Application and Registration
1. Time of Application
(1) Applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programs should be made from March to July each year, and the academic year starts in early September.
(2) Applications for common training programs (from one semester to two years) can be made at two different times a year: applications made from March to August for programs starting in September of the same year; and applications made from September to February the next year for programs starting at the end of February or the beginning of March.
(3) Applications for short-term training courses and for joining a class in the middle of the course can be made and get admitted at any time.
(4) Short-term training courses in the summer vacation starts in mid-July each year, and application for these courses should be made before the end of June.
2. Steps of Application for students working for a BA degree or MA degree
(1) Applicants may contact SISU International Students Department by letters, telephone calls, fax or email, and ask for or download from the Internet Application Form for International Students for Admission to SISU;
(2) The applicant should fill in the Form and go through physical examinations at a hospital in the country the applicant is residing in;
(3) The applicant should send the completed Form and the record of the physical examination and other documents needed to SISU International Students Department by post service or by fax;
(4) After evaluation of the qualifications of the applicant, SISU will send the applicant Notice of Admission to SISU and Application Form for Visa for International Students to Study in China (JW202).
3. Steps of Application for short-term students
(1) Applicants may contact SISU International Students Department by letters, telephone calls, fax or email, and ask for or download from the Internet Application Form for International Students for Admission to SISU;
(2) The applicant should fill in the Form and send the form back to SISU either by post service or by fax or by e-mail.
(3) After evaluation of the qualifications of the applicant, SISU will send the applicant Notice of Admission to SISU and Application Form for Visa for International Students to Study in China (JW202).
4. Registration
(1) Having received the Notice of Admission to SISU and Application Form for Visa for International Students to Study in China (JW202), the applicant can proceed with an “X” or “F” entry visa at a Chinese embassy or a Chinese consulate.
(2) The applicant registers at the SISU International Students Department at the time prescribed in the Notice of Admission to SISU with the Notice of Admission to SISU, Form JW202, his/her passport, and 8 passport photos. If the applicant intends to study at SISU for more than six months, he/she should present, in addition to the other documents listed above, his/her “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” in the original and the “Lab Reports” on his/her blood test and other tests in the original.
(3) The student should go through relevant registration formalities and pay tuition and fees according to regulations upon admission.
(4) Upon registration, a foreign student for undergraduate courses should show his/her diploma of the senior high school or a higher institution where he/she graduated; a foreign student for postgraduate courses should show his/her diploma of the college where he/she graduated, the degree certificate and letters of recommendation. A foreign student for postgraduate studies and a foreign student for undergraduate studies in majors other than Chinese should provide a photo copy of his/her HSK test certificate.
